We met in the most unexpected way – the Chick-fil-A line on the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University. Gerald saw Kailyn walk into the line and thought she was cute, but didn’t say anything. Kailyn tapped Gerald on his shoulder and asked about his Army bookbag. Gerald, being shocked that Kailyn was in the military because of her height, found himself intrigued. As that conversation progressed, we learned that we had the same job in the military, human resource specialists. We continued the conversation as we walked to class and Gerald got Kailyn’s number when we reached a crossroad. That chance encounter on February 12, 2018, set the stage for our journey towards marriage.

Our first date was at the Georgia Aquarium because active military get in free on Mondays (we love a good deal!). We spent the day exploring the aquarium and taking photos around Olympic Park in Atlanta! We continued our friendship for about a year before we became “official” when Gerald asked Kailyn to be his girlfriend on a date at an Ax Throwing place near the school. Whether its our competitive Monopoly games or our joint love for exploration, we enjoy each others company more and more each day. Geralds talent behind the camera adds an extra layer of magic to our travels, as we love capturing the beauty of the world around us. While we have explored far and wide, we have found that Home is wherever we are together.

As we reflect on the journey that brought us together, we are forever grateful for Gods faithfulness and for how he has woven our lives together. Now, with hearts full of joy, we invite you to celebrate as we publicly declare our covenant with Christ and witness the start of our forever together!
